Hedge Cutter

The aim of this project was to fast track their latest range of line trimmers & hedge trimmers from concept through to a fully engineered product. Using our blend of engineering design skills and experiences we were able to maintain the aesthetic design of the product without compromising the highly stringent mechanical design and manufacturing requirements.

Probe received a set of foam 'block' models, which were reversed engineered to provide the external form. By creating CAD models early in the design cycle we were able to undertake fit, function and interference checking, modify the design appropriately, prior to the creation of rapid prototypes from which castings were then taken for physical testing. Using the test results we made any necessary changes and passed the completed surface data directly the toolmakers, thus reducing the leadtime.
